Modern Education system in Nepal is new. The traditional system of learning was based on transferring knowledge from old to young through verbal and personal communication. Currently, following are the five universities in Nepal with their year of establishment.
Tribhuvan University (1960)
Mahendra Sanskrit University (1986)
Kathmandu University (1991)
Purbanchal University (1995)
Pokhara University (1996)
